Joanna Lindstrom
CEO & Founder
Joanna founded L Professional Writing (L Pro) in January 2016 to meet the distinct grant writing needs of organizations, initially focusing on the Pikes Peak region. She brings over two decades of experience working in the nonprofit and public sectors. Joanna’s passion for writing began while earning her BA in Technical Journalism from Colorado State University. Shortly after graduation, she volunteered with the Peace Corps in Burkina Faso, a pivotal experience that positively transformed her worldview and introduced her to the critical role of grants in mission-driven work. Her career prior to founding L Pro included roles within school districts and nonprofits, such as Head Start and Goodwill. Today, Joanna focuses on strategic oversight, business development, and managing a select few client relationships, all while ensuring every L Pro client receives customized, high-impact consulting.
In her spare time, Joanna prioritizes spending time with her family and friends, and also loves reading, creative writing, walking her dog, and enjoying the beauty of Colorado. She continues to volunteer, primarily focusing on investing in, mentoring, and supporting youth and young people.
Laura Severn
Grant Strategy Team Manager
Laura Severn joined L Pro as a Grant Strategy Manager in January 2022, and now serves as the Grant Strategy Team Manager. She enjoys supporting L Pro’s growing team and developing coordinated processes across all of the organization’s service opportunities. With an MA in Counseling/Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), over 25 years of experience working and volunteering with a variety of nonprofit organizations, and over 15 years of writing, editing, and project management work, Laura loves bringing these backgrounds together to lead grant writing and strategy initiatives for nonprofit organizations. Laura enjoys continuing to learn about and work with nonprofits across a wide range of focus areas.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys reading, traveling, good food, and exploring Colorado’s beautiful outdoors with her husband and three children.
Lindsay Tallman
Research Strategy Manager
Lindsay Tallman joined the team as a Grant Strategy Manager in June 2023, shortly before becoming L Pro’s Research Strategy Manager. In this role, Lindsay identifies and evaluates potential funding sources and updates scholarly research for our clients. Lindsay holds a BA in English and brings 15 years of experience in the writing, editing and communications industry to the L Pro team. Her previous roles include writer, editor, grant writer, and project manager.
As a communications professional, her passion is taking complex issues and simplifying them to help organizations achieve their goals.
In her free time, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, hiking, creative writing, painting, and traveling.

Our Grant Strategy Managers (GSMs) serve as project managers and principal grant writers for our clients. They are committed to achieving tangible and impactful results and, in keeping with L Pro’s values, they prioritize communication, transparency and collaboration to ensure clients’ needs are met and their goals are achieved.

Scott Bein
Grant Strategy Manager
Scott Bein has been a Grant Strategy Manager for L Pro since January 2023. He has a BA in English with a Professional and Technical Writing Emphasis from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and eight years of experience in writing, editing, research, strategic planning, and project management within the nonprofit sector. Scott is committed to using his experience and skills to advance meaningful change through mission-driven nonprofit work.
Outside of his work with L Pro, Scott has over two decades of experience as a performing and teaching musician. He continues to play guitar as a creative outlet and a way to connect with others—skills he brings to his nonprofit work, where creativity and collaboration are essential.
Kirstin McCarroll
Grant Strategy Manager
Kirsti McCarroll serves as a Grant Strategy Manager at L Pro, a role she has held since April 2023. She brings over a decade of dedicated experience working and volunteering with nonprofit, healthcare, and child welfare organizations. Kirsti holds a Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis in child welfare, combining her academic background and case management experience with practical project management and writing skills to support L Pro’s mission and grant development initiatives.
In her spare time, Kirsti enjoys spending time with her family and two cats, running, skiing, hiking, biking, reading, and enjoying all that Colorado has to offer.
Evangela Dudeck
Grant Strategy Manager
Joining the L Pro team in September 2024, Evangela Dudeck is a Grant Strategy Manager who specializes in content-forward, audience-aware writing. She has a BA in English Literature, a minor in Technical Communication & Information Design, and additional badging in User Experience Research & Design from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). Evangela’s humanistic approach to supporting nonprofits is informed by her background in early childhood education, public library service, and a decade of volunteering and working at nonprofits. She loves learning about the “why” that motivates nonprofits and helping them communicate their deep-seated care with new funders.
In her spare time, Evangela enjoys reading, crafting, chatting with friends, and spending time with her two kids.
Vicki Northcutt
Grant Strategy Manager
A graduate of Texas Tech University with a BA in Public Relations and a minor in English, Vicki joined the L Pro team as a Grant Strategy Manager in January 2025. Previously, she was an L Pro client for several years as the Executive Director – Development for a Texas nonprofit health clinic. Her 30+ years of experience runs the gamut of nonprofit fundraising, special events, and communications, to managing marketing for a Nashville-based real estate developer. Her love for writing has been nurtured not only by grant writing, but also through opportunities as a feature writer for several magazines and authoring a history book for a museum — Plano: An Illustrated Chronicle.
While Vicki enjoys helping her L Pro clients develop a successful grant program, she also values her faith, family, friends, and fur babies.
Max Sater
Grant Strategy Manager
Max Sater, a Grant Strategy Manager, joined the L Pro team in January 2025. He holds a Ph.D. in English literature from Rutgers University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Social Work at Colorado State University. Before joining LPro, Max spent a decade in higher education, researching, publishing, and teaching courses in literature and composition at Rutgers University, Pikes Peak State College, and the U.S. Air Force Academy. In addition to his work as a Grant Strategy Manager, Max is also a practicing psychotherapist. In both capacities, Max feels very fortunate to be able to help people in need.
Max lives with his wife, son, and bunny in Colorado Springs. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, writing, and watching films.
Michael Kientz
Grant Writer
Michael is a Grantwriter with L Pro. He spent fifteen years in the financial services industry and another sixteen years working for an international non-profit organization serving the poor. As part of his work with that non-profit, he and his family lived and worked in Thailand for eight years before returning to the U.S. Michael has a Master’s in Organizational Development and certifications in that field. He has volunteered with a non-profit that serves children in the foster care system for over 28 years and has held a role on their board.
Michael enjoys hiking and writing, and he has published seven books.
Joey Macasero
Grant Strategy Manager
Joseph Macasero has been a Grant Writer for L Pro since July 2026. He has a BA in English with an emphasis in Literature and Grant Writing from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). Joseph has seven years of collective experience in hands on nonprofit case management and development, including data collection, grant writing, fundraising, and volunteer and project management. Joseph is committed to using these skills to advance and nurture any nonprofit’s mission, focusing on helping vulnerable populations.
In his spare time, Joseph loves spending time with his 6 dogs, reading running, cooking as well as playing drums and performing with his band Viewfinder.
Eric Drasin
Grant Writer
Eric joined the L Pro team as a Grant Writer in August of 2026. He is currently a doctoral candidate in Critical Media Practices at CU Boulder and has presented his creative research nationally and internationally. Prior to moving to Colorado, he spent many years in New York as a creative technology consultant for large scale immersive media exhibitions and as an arts organizer, working with different New York-based institutions to curate several ongoing series and festivals.
